Quotes Finder
QuoteFinder is a powerful feature in Reveal that allows researchers to quickly locate verbatim quotes from participants while synthesizing research findings. This tool is especially useful when you recall a specific topic but are unsure who said it or when it was mentioned.
1. Finding Relevant Quotes
- Navigate to Analysis > QuoteFinder.
- Enter a topic or keyword related to what you’re searching for.
- Topics appear as rows, and Reveal scans all participant transcripts to find relevant verbatim quotes.
2. Adding a New Topic
- Simply click Add Topic and enter your search term.
- Example: How did the safety measures impact the education system?
- Reveal immediately searches the transcripts for matching quotes.
3. Handling Missing Data
- If no relevant quotes are found, Reveal explicitly indicates that no observations were available.
- Instead of generating irrelevant results, it prioritizes accuracy by showing only valid responses.
4. Viewing & Storing Quotes
- Click View Related Transcript to see the original context in a right-side panel.
- The specific location of the quote is highlighted for easy reference.
- Quotes can then be added to a collection, which will be covered separately in Snippets.
Why Use QuoteFinder?
- Quickly locate precise participant quotes.
- Avoid missing critical evidence when synthesizing research.
- Enhance credibility by directly linking insights to participant responses.
QuoteFinder ensures that key participant voices are easily accessible, making research synthesis faster, more transparent, and more reliable.
