Editing Transcripts
Even with highly accurate AI transcription, occasional errors can occur - especially with industry-specific terms or poor audio quality. That’s why Reveal now allows you to edit transcripts manually, so your data is always clean and accurate before analysis.
Edit Transcript Text
- Open a Study
- Click View Transcript for the interview you want to edit. This opens the transcript panel on the right.
- Click Edit Transcript link in the right panel.

Make Text Changes
- Click Edit next to any transcript segment.
- Correct typos or wording as needed.
- Click Save to apply the change.
- Regenerate Analysis After Editing (Optional)
- If your edit is minor (for example, a simple typo), you can save without regenerating analysis.
- If the edit is material and may impact insights or coding:
- Check Regenerate Analysis
- Save your changes
Note: Regenerating analysis updates all grids. It’s best to complete all transcript edits before regenerating.
Edit Speakers and Roles
- Open a Study
- Click View Transcript for the interview you want to edit. This opens the transcript panel on the right.
- In the transcript panel, click Edit Speakers and Tags. You'll see alll detected speakers and their assigned roles.
- Change roles as needed (for example, set a speaker as Participant or a Moderator).
Merge Duplicate Speakers
Sometimes the same person is identified as multiple speakers due to audio changes.
- Clicks the checkboxes next to duplicate speakers
- Click Merge Selected Speakers.

Save Changes
- We currently do not automatically regenerate the analysis in this case. You can manually regenerate using "Regen" link in each table cell.
