Tagging Participants
Cohort Comparisons in Reveal enable researchers to analyze qualitative data by grouping participants based on shared characteristics (tags). This allows for deeper insights by comparing responses across different segments, such as gender, location, or professional role.
1. Assigning Tags to Participants
- Each participant can be tagged with attributes like location, profession, age, or gender.
- Tags help in segmenting data for focused analysis.
Adding Tags Manually:
- Navigate to your study where participants are listed.
- Click Edit on a specific participant.
- Add relevant tags (e.g., Doctor, Virginia, 25-34 age group).
- This method works for small datasets but can be time-consuming for larger studies.
Bulk Managing Tags:
To streamline the tagging process, Reveal provides an import and management system:
- Click the three-dot menu on the right side.
- Select Manage Tags to view, edit, or rename existing tags.
- Modify tags by clicking on them and updating their label.
2. Importing Tags in Bulk
For larger datasets, tags can be imported using a CSV file:
- Prepare a CSV file where:
- Each participant is listed in a row.
- Each tag category (e.g., gender, age, location) is in a separate column.
- Upload the file via the Import Tags option.
- Confirm that the column labeled Speaker matches participant names in the study.
- Click Import Tags, and Reveal will automatically assign the uploaded tags.
