Observation Map

While the Observation Grid allows for detailed analysis across participants and research questions, the Observation Map provides a high-level overview of key themes and patterns within your data. This feature enables researchers to quickly identify overarching insights without manually sifting through individual responses.
  • Navigate to the Analysis menu.
  • Click Observation Map to generate a thematic view of your research questions.

Key features include:

1. Theme and Sub-Theme Mapping

  • All research questions are displayed in the Observation Map.
  • Expanding a question generates an AI-driven synthesis of related themes and sub-themes.
  • For example, under a question about preparedness, themes might include lack of preparedness, PPE shortages, and resource constraints.

2. Strength of Evidence

  • Each theme is accompanied by a strength indicator, showing how many participants referenced the topic.
  • This allows researchers to gauge the prevalence of a theme within their dataset.

3. Participant-Specific Insights

  • Clicking on a sub-theme node reveals the participants who mentioned that topic.
  • Researchers can then click on a participant's name to jump directly to the source transcript, providing direct evidence for the observation.

The Observation Map offers a powerful way to gain a bird’s-eye view of qualitative data, helping researchers quickly identify dominant themes, assess their significance, and trace insights back to their source. This feature complements the Observation Grid, enabling both detailed and high-level analysis of research findings.
