Reveal’s Codebook feature gives you a powerful new way to see the bigger picture in your qualitative research. With just a few clicks, you can generate an AI-powered thematic breakdown of your entire study—instantly surfacing key themes, how often they appear, and where they occur in the transcripts.

What It Does

Automatically analyzes all interviews in your study
Identifies and categorizes recurring themes
Shows the frequency of each theme across the dataset
Links each theme back to the exact utterances in the transcripts
Lets you explore quotes by participant and save interesting code snippets

🚀 How to Generate a Codebook

Open the Analyses Menu
In your study workspace, click on the Analyses menu in the top navigation.
Select "Codebook"
From the dropdown, choose Codebook. The system will begin analyzing all interviews in your study.
Code is auto-generated
The AI will process your data and automatically generate a list of themes based on participant responses.
Explore Themes
Once the codebook is ready:
- You'll see a list of high-level themes (e.g., Initial Perceptions, Delayed Realization).
- Click on a theme to expand sub-themes and see the actual excerpts tied to them.
- Each quote is attributed to the original participant and linked directly to its source in the transcript.

Additionally

Navigate to the Transcript: Want to see context? Just click on any snippet and you’ll be taken to the exact place in the transcript where that utterance occurred. The relevant phrase will be automatically highlighted for easy reference.
Save Code Snippets: If you find something important, click "Add to ..." All your saved snippets are collected in one place, accessible anytime.
