Quotes Finder is a feature of DoReveal, the AI qualitative analysis platform. Type a topic, theme or question, and Quotes Finder returns word-for-word verbatim quotes from every interview and focus group in your study in seconds. Each quote shows who said it and links to the exact transcript moment and recording, and you can download the verbatims in one click to drop straight into your report or deck.
Verbatim quotes are what make qualitative findings believable. They give stakeholders evidence, not just interpretation, and they build empathy in a way a summary cannot. Finding the right ones has always been the slow part: reading and re-reading transcripts, copying lines into a document, and hoping you did not miss a better quote in interview 14.
What platforms offer automated quote selection to illustrate each research finding?
Several AI research tools now attach quotes to findings. What separates them is whether you can trust and reuse those quotes. When you compare platforms, check four things:
Verbatim, not paraphrased: the tool returns the participant's exact words.
Linked to source: every quote links to the transcript moment and the recording.
Attributed: the tool knows which participant said it and never credits the moderator.
Exportable: quotes download in a usable format for reports, with no copy-pasting.
DoReveal covers all four. Every finding in a DoReveal report is backed by quotes linked to their source, and Quotes Finder lets you pull verbatims for any topic on demand, not only for the themes the AI chose. Zero hallucinations: every quote links back to the transcript moment and recording it came from.
How does Quotes Finder work in DoReveal?
1. Type a topic
Enter a theme, product name, feature or question, such as "onboarding", "price increase" or "why did you switch?". Quotes Finder searches by meaning, so participants who described the same idea in different words are included.
2. Get verbatims from the whole study
Quotes Finder searches every transcript in the study, not a sample. You see each quote word for word, with the participant who said it.
3. Check the source in one click
Click any quote to jump to the moment in the transcript and recording. You can read what came before and after, so the quote keeps its original meaning.
4. Download verbatims in one click
Select the quotes you want and download them in one click, ready to paste into a report, deck or client document. Search results, excerpts and transcripts can also be exported as spreadsheets.
5. Turn quotes into clips
Create a video clip from any quote, including quotes from translated text, and combine clips into showreels and stories for stakeholders who would rather watch than read.
Find the right verbatim for every finding in seconds. Try Quotes Finder on three of your own interviews, no credit card needed.
What good quote selection looks like?
A fast tool only helps if the quotes it returns are the right ones. Use this checklist whether you select quotes by hand or with AI.
1. Representative
The quote reflects a pattern across participants, not one memorable outlier. If only one person said it, say so.
2. Verbatim
Use the participant's exact words. Light trimming is fine if you mark it, but never merge two speakers or rewrite a line to sound sharper.
3. Attributed
Know which participant said it, and make sure it was not the moderator restating a point.
4. In context
"I suppose it works fine" means something different after eight minutes of complaints than it does at the start of a session. Read the lines around a quote before you use it.
5. Linked to source
Anyone reviewing the finding should be able to jump to the transcript moment and recording. This is what lets a client trust the deck.
6. Balanced
Include voices that contradict the main finding. A report that only shows agreeing quotes reads as selective. Our guide to bias in AI market research tools covers how selection skews results.
How to export quotes into reports?
For a slide deck: download the verbatims for each finding in one click and place one or two strong quotes per slide, with the participant label.
For a written report: state the finding, add one short quote that shows it, then explain what the quote tells the reader.
For stakeholders who will not read: turn the strongest quotes into video clips or a short showreel.
For an evidence appendix: export search results or excerpts as a spreadsheet so reviewers can see every supporting quote.
Judith Kuj, Co-Founder of Wise Market Insights, put it simply: "I never trusted any tool before. Accurate. Not just fast."
